The City of Chandler has been awarded a $2 million grant to initiate a pilot micro-transit service in South Chandler. The grant was awarded through the Arizona Transportation Modernization Grant Program, a $20 million initiative to modernize K-12 transportation options and improve access to reliable and safe transportation for students.
The City hopes to learn from this two-year pilot how to better serve the needs of individual students through a micro-transit van program for students who face transportation barriers and who are often traveling early in the morning and late at night.
