Who We Are

The National Center for Mobility Management is a national technical assistance center funded through a cooperative agreement with the Federal Transit Administration and operated through a consortium of three national organizations—the American Public Transportation Association, the Community Transportation Association of America, and Easterseals Inc.

NCMM is staffed by transportation professionals with expertise in many fields. We particularly focus on collaboration with other non-transportation sectors. Learn more about us by downloading our brochure.

The mission of the Center is to promote customer-centered mobility strategies that advance good health, economic vitality, self-sufficiency, and community.

Strategic Goal of the Center

To pursue, facilitate, and support partnerships between transportation/mobility management agencies and organizations that provide health-related, social, and community services to older adults, people with disabilities, and/or low-income individuals and families, with the goal of enhancing transportation options for all through coordination and mobility management practices and strategic partnerships.

Methodology

NCMM, in collaboration with the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and stakeholder networks, will:

  • Promote transportation coordination and mobility management practices
  • Pursue, facilitate, and support strategic partnerships between and within transportation/mobility management agencies and organizations that provide health-related, social, and community services
  • Provide self-directed and customized technical assistance (TA), training, and support services to mobility management professionals, including peer-to-peer learning and dissemination of information on technological and operational best practices related to mobility management
  • Implement planning and pilot grants to develop and test innovative, community-based transportation solutions
  • Carry forward previously established baseline measures, update target performance measures, and perform continual evaluation of NCMM activities in the context of those measures
