Ann Arbor’s City Council will discuss Monday night the possibility of increasing the housing density along transit corridors. It’s all part of a resolution that, if approved, would direct the city’s planning commission to create a Transit Supported Development District. As part of that project, transportation corridors like Washtenaw, State, and Jackson may get rezoned to allow for more housing development. Council Member Kathy Griswold from the second ward says the project would allow residents to live in Ann Arbor without owning a vehicle.
