Edwardsville and Bonner Springs residents have a new public transport option. The Unified Government's Transportation Department launched the Southwest Edwardsville to Legends Microtransit Zone service on November 14, 2023. This is a shared, on-demand ride service within a specific area. Passengers can book and pay for rides through the IRIS Mobile App, the IRIS Booking Website, or the UGT Dispatch Center.
The IRIS service uses a dynamic routing model. It picks up and drops off riders within a quarter mile of their request. The service aims to increase connectivity in areas where public transport is less accessible. The IRIS Mobile app replaces the existing Transloc app for Microtransit. Existing users are advised to download the new app.
