“The project is intended to supplement our fixed-route system,” Citibus General Manager Chris Mandrell said during last week’s City Council meeting. “It’s a demand-response type of system. It’s all going to be done by using a phone app or calling in to schedule that ride.”
The newly announced pilot project gives customers flexibility to schedule a ride within their own schedule rather than, as sometimes happens, having to plan personal errands or other business around fixed hours of operation.
