Creating Innovative Transportation Solutions
Design Thinking is a systematic approach to creating solutions to seemingly intractable challenges. It starts with an in-depth understanding of customers and the ability to create a better future for them. It leads us through a process for testing proposed solutions to determine if they are operationally feasible and financially viable and, most important, that the proposed solutions that will meet customer needs—all before we ever begin to implement the solution.
Next available training: Oct 2-4, 2018 in conjunction with the Rural Public and Intercity Bus Transportation Conference, Breckenridge, Colorado. Offered by the National Center for Mobility Management, this training introduces an innovative human-centered design process, called Design Thinking, to the development of transportation solutions. Request for Letters of Interest: In Fall 2018, NCMM will sponsor Regional Mobility Meetings in two communities that will give mobility management practitioners from all industry sectors the opportunity to network and learn together. NCMM will work closely with the two selected regions to co-design these 1.5–day meetings to ensure they effectively address the goals the community sets for the meeting.
