"A long-unmet transportation need in Charlevoix County is now being addressed.
On Monday, the Charlevoix County Commission on Aging along with Charlevoix County Transit began offering free transportation for out-of-county medical needs to those age 60 and older.
Amy Wieland, executive director of the Charlevoix County Commission on Aging, said both she and Jill Drury, Charlevoix County Transit director, believe strongly in the service and see a priority in it.
