When it comes to getting treatment for substance abuse issues, one of the biggest hurdles many area residents face is a lack of transportation options to and from treatment centers. A new partnership between the Hopkins County Fiscal Court and ARCH Community Health Coalition may help to alleviate that problem.
Working on a recommendation from the committee established to help utilize recent opioid settlement funds, the court recently unanimously voted to earmark $10,000 of those funds for a transportation fund that will be overseen by ARCH. These are funds that can only be used for very specific purposes related to opioid abuse.
