Join the U.S. Department of Transportation's (USDOT) RAISE staff on Tuesday, January 23 from 2:30-4:00 PM ET for a webinar intended to help potential rural and Tribal applicants successfully compete for the FY 2024 RAISE Discretionary Grant Program. A member of the ROUTES Team will also outline additional applicant resources in the Rural Grant Applicant Toolkit for Competitive Federal Transportation Funding which acts as a guide for potential applicants in identifying and navigating discretionary opportunities for rural transportation projects. The webinar will include closed captioning as well as ASL interpretation. If you are unable to attend the webinar or space is no longer available, the slides and recording will be made available shortly after the conclusion of the webinar.
The Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity, or RAISE Discretionary Grant Program, provides a unique opportunity for USDOT to invest in road, rail, transit and port projects that promise to achieve national objectives. Since 2009, Congress has dedicated nearly $12.1 billion for fourteen rounds of National Infrastructure Investments to fund projects that have a significant local or regional impact. In 2023, RAISE awarded 162 projects across 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Northern Mariana Islands.
The FY 2024 RAISE program has $1.5 billion to be awarded to projects with significant local or regional impact. Applicants are encouraged to consider how climate change may impact their project as well as any equity considerations. Half of the FY 2024 RAISE funding will go to projects in rural areas. In addition, projects in a rural area, a historically disadvantaged community, or an area of persistent poverty will be eligible for up to 100 percent federal cost share.
The FY24 RAISE NOFO is available here. The deadline for applications is 11:59 PM ET on February 28, 2024.
