Join NCMM and colleagues from projects funded by the National Science Foundation to learn about opportunities and challenges related to collecting data about the condition of sidewalks. These data can inform mobility managers, community planners, transit providers, and ADA Coordinators about pedestrian access to community settings, including transit service. The Coordinating Council on Access and Mobility (CCAM) updated Strategic Plan Goal 2 affirms the importance of addressing sidewalks and community accessibility: Promote the development of safer and more accessible transportation networks. Initiatives such as Vision Zero and Complete Streets also provide a framework for the role of mobility management professionals in thinking holistically about mobility options, including community navigation.
