Registration deadline: “A Partnership in Transit: The Shared Interests of Transportation Programs and Caregiving” on Caregivers

Please join us this fall to discuss caregiving and transportation in our newest online course!

Course Goal: The goals of this course are to highlight the importance of transportation support in the caregiver experience and to share innovative and replicable models of transportation programs that practice meaningful engagement with caregivers to capture their unique needs. Participants in the course will gain an understanding of how caregivers can inform transportation policies and practices.

Who should participate: Public, private, and non-profit transportation and human services providers, city/county employees (including public health employees),

caregiver support programs, and anyone interested in learning about the intersection of caregiving and transportation.

What will the course include: This course will include four modules. Each module contains a video presentation on the selected topic and we will provide links to outside resources and documents for reference. The topics addressed in the course are as follows:

  1. Amplifying Voices of Caregivers in Transportation
  2. Transportation, Caregiving, and Diversity
  3. Meeting the Transportation Needs of Caregivers and Individuals with Dementia
  4. Rural Transportation and the Caregiver Experience

Discussion Forums: Each module will have a linked discussion forum. This course is structured in such a way that your engagement is a key part of learning! We want you to draw on the content provided to help start a conversation, share resources, and provide support. These forums will be a place for discussion with other registered participants and you will be provided with discussion questions for each module that will help prompt conversation.
