How The Twin Cities Is Making Transit Accessible To Immigrants And Refugees

While the Minneapolis-St. Paul transit system works to be more accessible to riders with limited English, volunteers fill in the gaps with a Bus Buddies program. The Metro Transit system primarily communicates in English, which most of the refugees do not understand. However, the International Institute of Minnesota has worked over the past several years to help new Americans navigate it, as the transit system itself struggles how best to make information accessible to them.
