At a Capital Regional District (CRD) transportation committee meeting, Victoria Council member Dave Thompson spearheaded a motion, now awaiting CRD board approval, to request provincial government action for amending the Motor Vehicle Act. This amendment would enable electric wheelchairs, mobility scooters, and other micromobility devices to legally utilize bike lanes, marking a potential shift towards more accessible city infrastructure.
