The Unified Government of Wyandotte County/Kansas City, Kansas, Transportation Department has launched what it’s calling “an innovative microtransit and paratransit service.”
The paratransit service offers a door-to-door option for people who face challenges using traditional transportation because of disabilities, the department stated in a recent press release. The microtransit option is an on-demand shuttle service designed to provide service to select zones. It serves midtown Kansas City, Kansas; and southwest Edwardsville, with plans to expand into the northeast/Fairfax area “later this year,” the department stated.
Both services are offered through the IRIS application from RideCo.
