Bloomington Transit is launching a new on-demand microtransit service starting July 15.
It’s called BLink (pronounced like “blink”), and it’s meant to improve access to underserved areas.
BLink will offer service between three “zones” of the city: Downtown, East, and North.
Riders can request a ride anywhere in the three zones and they’ll be directed to a pickup point within a quarter of a mile of their location. There are 150 pickup points between the three zones.
They can request to be dropped off in another zone, at a specific in-zone location, or at a fixed-route bus stop.
