Battery-boosted three-wheelers are increasingly popular with older riders. But safety fears and the lack of bike-friendly infrastructure could hold them back.
E-bikes are all the rage in Seattle, and Jim Cochrane (76) liked the idea of getting a battery boost up the area’s hills. An e-trike could offer a stronger sense of on-street security, while also allowing him to more easily access local bike trails. Lots of other folks in Cochrane’s age group are thinking along the same lines.
