State Sen. Spencer Deery's (R-West Lafayette) sponsored bill to support workforce transportation across county lines passed the Indiana Senate Tuesday in a 37-13 vote.https://www.jconline.com/story/news/local/2023/04/18/deerys-sponsored-bill-to-expand-public-transportation-passes-senate/70127609007/
If it becomes law, Deery's House Bill 1046 allows public transportation corporations in adjacent counties to travel across county lines to transport riders if county commissioners and county councils agree.
A key opportunity to the bill, according to Deery's office, would be the ability for residents to travel to neighboring counties for work.
