This discussion paper has attempted to utilise findings from the user perspective, in an interplay with (mainly) the service perspective, to illustrate their interdependencies and the importance of service design, but also to try to paint the bigger picture of MaaS. This to help the reader understand some of the complexities of MaaS, embedded in the larger system that is transport, so as to facilitate moving forward with eyes wide open. Just as any good product or service design requires planning, testing, and multiple iterations to “get it right”, so too will achieving MaaS in particular, or a more sustainable transport system in general; thus, all the more important to learn from each other.
